Tourismus Stadt laufen in Amsterdam.

Cycling is popular in Amsterdam, but how about visiting the city running?

That's what two members of a Dutch triathlon club had in mind when they formed "Tourist Run Amsterdam," a company that will launch running tours of the city starting March 2010.

Licensed guides who are also seasoned runners will provide "running commentary" as they lead tourists on 5-mile jogs along the canals, across bridges, through the Red Light district, Dam square and past the Anne Frank House. Groups are limited to five. The one-hour tours are held Saturdays and Sundays at 9 a.m. Cost is 20 euros, and includes a drink after the run and a city map. Details at www.touristrunamsterdam.com.
